I remember having CNN on all day and all night. I remember how people couldn't call into NY and for some reason I could - so people who I didn't even know were asking me to check on other people I didn't know. I remember how getting no answer on some of those phone calls made me feel sick. I remember talking to people who were too stunned to find it odd that somebody on another continent, who they never have spoken to before, was hearing them cry. I remember not believing. I remember feeling guilty for the relief it gave me to know my best friend had made it, when so many others didn't. I remember being angry. I remember the pictures of those who were lost that day. I remember the numbers being so large you couldn't register them. I remember Giuliani on the telly and the way he managed to be both calm and still impart the magnitude of the pain. I remember feeling that the city I have been to so many times and loved, would never be the same.
I remember and I don't think any of us will ever forget.
