Back Home...
Jan. 7th, 2004 10:33 pmI sat inside the airplane for 3 hours while they checked and double checked something due to security. When they told us they had to refuel the plane so we could finally leave it dawned on me: They had taken all the fuel out?! I'm just glad they did check - but what is it with me and travel? I have to try an uneventful trip one day just to find out what it is like to just get on a plane and get out with nothing at all going wrong. All this to say - yes, me back on the other side of the equator.
I had the best time in NY (Delaware, New Jersey, etc.). hobiscuit (I miss you - it's never enough time - is it?),
villagechick & VB,
drinkthepoisonx (Vegan rocks!),
jaydk,
drujan (next time I'll try leaving before 4 AM!), Marlaine and Laurie with her delicious food... Everybody was so nice to me. Thanks - really.
So back here and it's all hot and humid. It seems I left NY just in time to miss the bitter cold. My egocentric side would like to think that it was NY's way of telling me it will miss me. Ha... I know, but let me dream... It's nice here at the Nile.
Did I mention I miss NY already? Thought I would.
P.S. At the airport here they were fingerprinting and photographing all American citizens coming into Brazil (Brazil has a tit for tat policy). I thought I would enjoy seeing that - since the thought of being fingerprinted like a criminal if I fly back to the US is not very appealing to me (something to do with rights). Instead I sincerely felt bad for them. 8 hours. In a very slow moving line. *sigh*
