Doing [livejournal.com profile] jerrymcl89's meme thing while doing the avoiding thing.

If you are American, who is your favorite US president ? If you aren't, who is your favorite leader of your country ? Why ?
I would have to say I have no favorites here. The guy before this president tried and, to an extent, succeeded in controling our horrid inflation. Plus we had a first lady with a brain then - that helped. I'd have to say that my favorite politician here is Senator Suplicy - socialist, intelligent and honest.

Who is the most famous person you have ever met ? Who is the most famous person you have ever met without really trying to ?
Met as in sit down and talked to? I'll go with Pelé (yes, the football player) and President Jimmy Carter (at Barnes & Noble).
Without trying? Harrison Ford? Paul Newman? The Brazilian football team?

I don't go to the movies much. I just saw "Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban". What's the next movie I should bother to see?
Around the World in 80 Days because Jackie Chan is in it. I know, his Western movies are never as good - I don't care. It's Jackie!

When I'm sitting in traffic on the Tappan Zee bridge in my little Ford Focus, and I can't see anyting in front of me, because I'm surrounded by SUV's, is it wrong to be happy that gas costs about $2.40 a gallon?
No, it's not. Except I own a SUV. So - ouch.

Who do you really wish would be the next President?
You mean the next USA President? Somebody who wouldn't shove his religion down the country's throat use religion when addressing a country that was supposed to cherish its diversity. Somebody with intelligence, a sense of fairness and a concern for doing not only what was right just for the US, but with an eye on the future and the world. In other words, not what you have there now.

What book should I read next?
You're on your own. I read mostly non-fiction history. Not really everybody's cup of tea. I'm now reading the account books for the Tudors with commentaries - you'd be surprised how much you learn about a person when you go over their accounts.

I could use a laugh. What was the funniest line of dialogue you heard on TV this year?
If you have a dark sense of humor? Your govt. and how it continues to say the things it does about the war.

Was the pomp and pageantry of the Reagan funeral wrong ? I'm not asking if he was a great president or not - that's obviously something people are going to fight about, and I have opinions, but it's not what I am wondering. Rather, I'm curious whether it's a good thing to bury our presidents like they are kings.
There's no business, like show business.

When did you first start going online ? How has the internet changed your day-to-day life?
Probably '96. It has changed it considerably.
