Something zsu, something good
Sep. 11th, 2005 01:50 amCaused a zsu at a meeting today for saying that the best chance we have of getting what we want is by changing legislation to legalize gay marriage.
Some people took v. badly my use of the word we. It doesn't matter if I have been involved with this before some of them were out of junior high.
The fact I'm a breeder (and, I kid you not, the shoes I wear) is enough to disqualify me.
The people who actually knew me started to defend me. Before things got ugly, I got up and left.
Usually if there's conflict, I'm in there - right in the middle of it and loving every minute. Except this isn't the first time, nor the second and I'm starting to get tired of having to explain myself to, well, every frelling body. I do understand the frustration behind the anger, but don't appreciate being used as a target just because I'm conveniently at hand.

And totally unrelated, but v. overdue, I'd like to thank Colleen for being the first to think of me as capable of writing fiction. She has no idea how much it meant, means and will always mean to me. One story to go.
