Questions asked by the scrumptious [livejournal.com profile] hobiscuit. Thanks, hon!

THE RULES!
1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 - You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 - You'll include this explanation.
5 - You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

1. Which of your personality traits do you like best and why?
Toot my own horn? I suck at this, but let me give it a try. I can say I like my capacity to adapt. Different countries, different cultures, different situations... Been through all of those and managed to do it with no big drama.

2. Which do you like least and why?
Wrath, unfortunately, is a big part of my personality. I'm easy to lash out and my impulse is to go for full confrontation every time. I'll yell louder than anybody else and won't shy away from fights. Granted, it can be an useful thing, but I would like it better if I could do the rational thing and not be so Uga! Buga!

3. What is your deepest dream?
Deepest? Learn to stop worrying and just enjoy the ride, since it's such a short one.

4. Who is your favorite author and why?
I'm such a reader and to pick one is near impossible. I'll go with Machado de Assis, a Brazilian author from the 19th century who rocked my world at an early age. The man had a style and imagination so unique (the short stories are a good place to start) that it's difficult to capture it in translation - still, he is totally worth reading in English.

5. A fandom question, similar to the one Kelly asked me but a little different. It is the start of season 7, everything happened in season 6 as it did on screen. You are in complete control of the show, how does season 7 go?
Season 7 would go pretty much as it did... with some small differences.

  1. Buffy tones down the kick the Spike and shows some respect for what he did for her - even if she remains conflicted about her feelings for the vampire.
  2. Pod Giles never shows up. Instead we have the same old Rupert Giles - supportive, responsible and the voice of reason. He would not try to kill Spike and would show the proper admiration for the fact the vampire went and got his soul back - on purpose. I would pump up the Ripper in him starting on sweeps. After CWDP, with his own visit by Miss Calendar, he faces his love for Anya and starts on the path that will deliver us Ganya towards the end of the season. BTW - Anya does not die. No, sir. She moves with Giles to some tropical island and continues their work against the forces of darkness.
  3. Food? Never would have happened. Faith is Faith and to have her mellow down for Principal Wood is wrong, wrong, wrong.
  4. More scenes between Dawn and Spike. With her being mature enough to understand that what happened was not as simple as the vampire was bad and hurt her sister. How does she understand that? Buffy has the orbs to finally sit down and explain it to her. I would put Lil' Bit and Spike on the path of mending their older brother-little sister dynamic.
  5. Less screen time for the Annoying Ones, AKA Slayers to be. I didn't hate them with a passion, but they were not the best thing in the season. Kennedy and Willow could still have their thing - but I would keep it on the background, where it belonged.
  6. Angel showing up? No problem. No kissage, though. More important: no cookie dough speech! She's not done baking?! Please.
  7. Buffy being kicked out by the Scoobies? I would have her leave after the fiasco, run away because she can't face the fact she will have to put the girls at risk again and in war there are casualities. It would be a good chance to show something other than the bitch who whines if you have her freak out over that. Very human and we still could have the scene with Spike telling her she can do anything. I would leave the Scoobies & Giles questioning her wisdom in her decisions - it would serve as the trigger for her finally going bonkers.
  8. Xander and Anya would not have comfort sex. Instead we could have Giles and Anya finally locking lips (and other parts of their anatomy). Hey - it makes more sense than Food!
  9. Cut short on crazy Spike. It's useful for a while, but it got old. The First using his trauma over dusting of mom still goes - I love me a flashback.
  10. End of Chosen? Amulet turns Spike into a Uruk'hai (I know they are called something else) buster, Buffy runs to him and says I love you. He says: I know. She locks hands with him and he looks at her with shock, realizing she intends to stay. He tells her to go, to save herself. She holds his hand tighter and together they become one big, ubervamp dusting light. Last scene? The mushy romantic lovers locking eyes and the light grows, enveloping both of them.

Note: I had no idea I had all of this inside until I started answering the BtVS question. Wow... I actually cared!

Okay... Here we go.
1. If your next reincarnation was a "by choice" thing, who, or what, would you like to come back as?
2. The Fab Five (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) come over to your house and ask you what they can do to improve your S.O.. You beg them to...?
3. What characteristic do you have the biggest trouble dealing with in other people?
4. What characteristic of yours do you think people have the hardest time dealing with?
5. The obligatory fandom question: You are now *the* best hypnotist in the world and Joss Whedon just walked into your office asking to be put under. Ethics be damned, because now you have the chance to make him...?

Well, I'm *fully* on board with your Season 7 #2 and #8! Are you surprised? Heh.

Although I'd add that Spike would treat *Giles* with a modicum of respect, which we certainly didn't see onscreen even before the Episode That Made Me Stop Watching BtVS (ie. Lies My Parents Told Me).

Your fic keeps me in the right universe, hon!
I have to say that I should have elaborated on the whole Spike & Giles relationship. I liked them much better at the - "Oh, poor Watcher. Did your life pass before your eyes? Cup of tea, cup of tea, almost got shagged, cup of tea?" A bit of snark, but with the father-rebelious son dynamic behind it.

I really like your Season 7, especially the final scene. That would have made it all better. :-)
